Prepare, maintain and test response equipment


Application

This unit of competency involves the skills and knowledge required to inspect, maintain and test a range of equipment. It includes inspecting response equipment, testing response equipment and cleaning, maintaining and restowing equipment

The unit applies to personnel who have either a primary role in the maintenance of equipment or are required to test and maintain equipment as part of an operational role.

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Inspect response equipment

Equipment is inspected, in accordance with organisational procedures

Missing parts are identified and reported, in accordance with organisational procedures

Faulty or damaged equipment is reported and recorded, in accordance with organisational procedures

Test response equipment

Equipment is tested, in accordance with organisational procedures and standards and is identified as fit for purpose

Test results are recorded, in accordance with regulatory requirements and organisational procedures

Defective equipment and substandard performance is reported and recorded, in accordance with organisational procedures

Clean, maintain and restow equipment

3.1

Equipment is cleaned, maintained, assembled and stowed, in accordance with organisational procedures

Equipment records are updated, in accordance with organisational procedures

3.3

Equipment is recovered, restowed and made ready for future use
